The best way of wearing coloured soft contact lenses is on a frequent replacement schedule e.g. changing them 2 weekly or monthly. Unfortunately, these are not available in toric form (to correct astigmatism).
You have 2 options, wear toric contacts without the colour or wear coloured lenses, and put weak specs over the top to correct the astigmatism for driving etc.
the answer is no. if u want to, it’s up 2 u.
I just askd my eye dr about toric colored contacts, and he said there wasn’t such a thing yet. He’s probably lying though because his office staff isn’t smart enough to order something like that…I’d end up with a set of colored and toric with a sheet of instructions about attempting to wear both at the same time.
You must wear a Toric lens; I’ve had astigmatism all my life. As far as colored ones go it depends on your base curve as I am now finding out. There are a couple of brands that carry Toric colored lenses. Off the top of my head I’m thinking of Freshlook. I have a base curve of 8.7 and have no luck; most have a base curve of 8.6.
search Toric colored lenses on the web
Yes, you can wear contacts. My brother has astigmatism and he’s been wearing contacts for quite a few years now. I’m not positive about color contacts, but I’m sure you can wear those too.
I’m not personally familiar with contacts (I wear spectacles), but I understand that they can be prepared to correct astigmatism. There is a tiny dot on the lens, which must be placed in the appropriate position for the lens to work properly.
If you have astigmatism (no capital a), you can wear “normal” contact lenses. As for colored lenses, check with an optometry office. Just walk in or call. They’ll be happy to help you.
You have to get the ones that are made for astigmatism
You can wear contacts depending on the severity of the astigmatism. I have an astigmatism and I have been wearing contacts for 8 years now. You optometrist will know which brand is best and it may be a lot harder to find colour contacts that are suitable.
Astigmatism relates to the shape of your eyeball rather than the correction of vision for distance. So,…..the answer is no. You can get contacts that have astigmatism correction and as a matter of fact they are far better than they were ten or twenty years ago. You may be able to get colored contacts for astigmatism as a special order but may cost you a bundle….write to bausch and lomb or ciba and see what they have to offer. Good luck
No. there are some new contact lens that has come out recently you need to check with your optometrist.
Boy, this is your lucky day!!! The answer to your question from someone who has worked in the optometry industry for years can give you an honest answer…… You can wear normal contact lenses as long as your astigmatism is border and is still comfortable. But let me explain to you why toric contact lenses were created….. Astigmatism has to do with the shape of your eye, which those who have a more pointier eye need a better fitting contact for better fit and correction. However, well worth it and the industry has created some of the most comfortable materials to provide you with outstanding products…. Depending
on the extent of correction needed, they’re fulfillment to accomodate a wide variety of powers needed to provide most of
contact wearing clients, today… Once again, as long as your eye doctor gives the okay.. You’re set…. They’ve even managed to provide colors, too. Just be sure that you have been comepletly instructed and trained on how to wear contact lenses as well as
the procedures for caring and what routine is necessary to insure clean and healthy eyes… As long as you continue to follow those instructions, There shouldnt be any problems throughout wearing contact lenses for a long time. Your doctor is supposed to fit you with a trial pair along with a followup appointment before writing a final rx. When you return for that visit,if there is anything that doesnt feel right with fit or vision, be sure to let him know so that he can proceed with alternate adjustments to find that perfect fit and brand….More trial pairs don’t cost him, theyre provided by the contact lense co.s so it shouldnt cost you anything either… Remember, never settle for anything less than professional service from your doctor,No matter how inexpensive the exam fee… These are your eyes….
Important info about your contact rx.. No one can hold your rx hostage if don’t buy their packages or extras.. If you paid for a contact lens exam and the doctor says the rx is correct, then he is to release your written rx to you. Most drs. have no problem providing you with your eyeglass rx as well without extra charge for this( example: eye exam $45.00/ contact lens exam$75.00/ basic including glassrx) Speciality contact exam
a little more, but not extreme…Including free starter kit. Again didnt cost him anything; shouldnt cost you.. If you have any other questions in regard to this matter… Let me know tasbella @yahoo.com……..
