So I have an astigmatism and I have glasses. Glasses are annoying and I ma considering contacts. But my eye Dr said he can do a trial but since I have a low px I might not be a candidate. I am very frustrated because my vision is so much sharper when I wear the glasses. It would be great if I could have the same result minus the glasses. Signs and license plates are blurry any more than 10 feet away. Any suggestions???

Just about everyone has some astigmatism. You won’t need to buy toric contacts (which are expensive!) unless your cylinder is over -2.00 and the clearest, sharpest vision you will ever have is with glasses. Contacts are a close second, but no contact will ever be as crisp as the vision you have with glasses.
Astigmatism is a funny thing, it “skews” your vision, and consequently only toric contact lenses can correct it. They aren’t perfect, and it’s going to be trial and error to get them right. It’ll take patience on both your parts, but don’t give up….it CAN be done.
